Madison Childrens Museum is open! woot!
We held out and firmly didn't want to visit during opening weekend (so busy!), however we only held out until today, Monday. I was too excited for Lily to get to explore everything. It was still crazy busy, but they clearly had all hands on deck and they really tried to make sure everything was running as smoothly as possible.
I have learned from past experiences that Lily is able to accept pretty much anything if she understands what to expect. I explained to her that the childrens museum is new and everyone wants to try it. It would not ALWAYS be busy and loud and crazy, and we should just enjoy the things that weren't being used and to be calm and sweet to others because we have passes and can come anytime. She seemed to feel a lot less hectic and upset about trying OMGEVERYTHING once I explained things. We also took several opportunities to sneak to a quiet place to chat about what a nice time we were having.
Painting on glass. Genius!
The entirely gorgeous water room. This thing is amazing. Water pours across a glass ceiling and glass gutters, down repurposed glass columns and out through faucets for the kids to play with. Lily would have stayed in this room all day.

This wood slide is so appealing to me! Someday when no one is around to laugh at me (it's totally designed for kids), I'm totally trying this thing!
Lily loves this dollhouse. Who wouldn't?! It's amazing.
Lily stood on this bridge, staring out the window, humming and daydreaming and ignoring me and the 8 billion kids running around for about 5 minutes. I love how she just takes time for herself when she needs it. seems to really help her stay stable in these "meltdown" situations (i could not believe how many tantrum-ing children there were!)
Charlie was not too sure about the baby area at first
Then he played peek a boo, because that's his favorite!

Go down the slide! Jess did!
