Lily and I are learning to cook/bake. I'm making an effort to prepare something that involves ovens/stovetops/mixing bowls/etc every day. Most days I'd rather microwave or make a cold meal like salad or sandwiches but she really enjoys cooking and it gives us a lot more options!

She's loving getting to help, and she's proud of herself for listening to directions and remembering steps to complete something. We are incorporating counting, simple math, shapes, colors, textures and lots of hand/eye coordination, which is why it hardly matters if the food turns out fantastic, since we are having so much fun making it.

T0day was apple pie.

its still cooling so i'm not sure how it tastes, but i can tell you already, we burnt the top crust. Boo! (we have double ovens and our top oven seems to cook really really fast.. i'm still learning!)
