we went out and picked a bunch of (ugly!) apples from our little tiny orchard at our house. we don't spray or do any sort of maintenance to our trees so we wind up with our share of ugly but tasty apples. we've been told our trees our on their last years, and soon it will be time for new baby trees.
Anyway, here are some of our imperfect apples
lily and i peeled, cored and sliced them
then we added some water & cinnamon and cooked them till they were mushy
little bit of squishing and Voila! Applesauce!
I'm totally impressed with myself. And to me, its the best applesauce ever, because we grew our own totally safe and healthy apples, and made them into our very own applesauce, with no extra junk!
