Emmy Fink has interviewed lily several times and Lily LOVES her. A "buzzed into Madison" piece about our vilas zoo benefit will air Monday 2/21 @ 6:20am, 7:20am, 8:20am and friday 2/25 @ 6:50am, 7:50am, 8:50am. It will also be on their website. I'll post it when it's up.

We spent our last evening at the beach. Soaking up sunshine, making sure we saved some sand in our shoes, laughing at funny babies.







Then we kissed San Diego goodbye and headed back to Madison, where we apparently brought some warm weather karma, as it's been in the 40's. Lovely!

Lovely beachy afternoon today.

Let me just preface this by saying that in wisconsin there was a -25 windchill in the morning.

So, I love you San Diego for letting my babies shed layers of clothes and play in their swim suits all afternoon. In February.


Charlie SAT STILL for several minutes to play in the sand. Sitting still is pretty much unprecedented.



And then....he laid down! Someone loves the beach.


Then we bundled up to head over to the street fair. Fun!


We accidentally timed it just right for a quick sunset on the pier as we walked away from the beach. Beautiful!

You know how lately we've been doing a lot of this?


Well. We escaped!
We hopped on a plane, snuck between several blizzards and made it to California.


We've been exploring OUTSIDE and lily keeps saying how great it is to play without snowsuits! Poor Charlie learned to walk right when it got cold back home, so this is all new to him.

Charlie- exploring grass and trying to coordinate running up and down hills.


We went to Disneyland and lily loves it there.

Really, really loves it.

I just can't explain how much I love spending our days in sunglasses and flip flops....


Watching dolphins (!!!) play at sunset...


And being with my family.
